Just Bought a 16x DVD Burner

And when I put it in both dvd drives stopped working. I took it out and the original still wouldn't work until I disabled it then enabled it again. I put the 16x in by itself and tried this and it didn't work. Why won't it work!?!?! I'm not as technologically inept as some people but this doesn't make sense.

Has to do with the jumpers on the back I assume not knowing what your box' has in it.

It either has to be both drives as cable select or make one a master and one a slave unit.
