Who the hell names these things??

This is daft list of Molecules with Silly or Unusual Names but i thought i would post the link anyway.

I mean who the hell thought some of these up these things up.

Example: Fukalite or Bastadin-5

And the sad thing is that some of the smartest people actually came up with the names for these. But yet, atleast they have a sense of humor, or no sense of humor and just dumb coincidence. Still, it's pretty funny.

Here's a question: if got to name one and you didn't have to name it anything to do with actual thing, what would you call it?

Wow...pain and pleasure...all in one molecule...gotta get me some of that!!...or maybe not...becomes homo-erotic acid if you add carbon to it...wowzers....the new date rape drug.

I've always wondered what was on the mind of the guy who named the "Kumquat"...

Actually I think one of those uubinununiumumniums was just named, probably something french... cummingtonite... if the guy who named that didn't realize what he was doing, it's proof of the sad life of chemists... Poor chemists, I'll respect them until they're proven guilty of idiotic naming...
