Research tips?

i have always been interested in prototype aircraft and was wondering if any other members had any tips on finding out info on these? Obviously there is a good selection posted on these very forums but i was wondering where other members got their info from? and what tips they could offer?

One of the best dynamic models I've been exposed to is a differential equation program that takes data analysis input and re-models.

you can build your own data pool, then re-manipulate for desired effect.

Kind of like that MS Excel prediction algorithm they jump up and down about.
I haven't used one in awhile, but Wolfram Mathematica seems to look good:
