A huge monster was found dead near New Zealand in 1977, the monster had been dead about 1 month before it was found by people on a japanese fishing ship. Japanese scientists have agreed that it is probably a plesiosaur.

Do you think it's a plesiosaur? Do they still exist? Possibly only in deep sea?

Ummm... it looks quite fake.

First, a find such as this should be everywhere on the news. Second, visually I can't tell the difference between a rotting carcass and a pile of garbage. And thirdly, if it is a carcass, and if it does look like a peliosaur (which I don't think it does, see point 2), then it could be easily photoshoped.

Sorry, but like I said, it just doesn't look "right".

I have seen that photo explained as a carcass of a shark, but I do not remember where.

Sharks do not have a skeleton like other fishes, and when they start rotting the first thing that happens is that they loose the mandibles, and so they look like they only had the top the head and a long neck.
