Haliburton's No-Bid Contracts Revoked

I saw this while scanning the news today. I thought this was an insteresting turn of events and deserved discussion.

The Army is discontinuing a controversial multibillion-dollar deal with oil services giant Halliburton Co. to provide logistical support to U.S. troops worldwide, a decision that could cut deeply into the firm's dominance of government contracting in Iraq.

The choice comes after several years of attacks from critics who saw the contract as a symbol of politically connected corporations profiteering on the war.

So did justice truly prevail, or was charging $45 for a case of soda and bathing our troops in contaminated water too much for the government to justify to the American public?

At least we get a fair bidding process. Too bad that Haliburton will probably get every penny for their "services rendered".
