Mystery object found in SuperNova's heart

Thought this was pretty cool. Don't really understand much about this but thought someone in here would find it an intresing read.

This is probably a stupid question but how can a neutron star that is only 2000 years old but 10,000 light years away be observed by us now?

Because they are going by pier one rules, say something thats not true like 70% of everything else NASA and other space angencys tell us. Fact if its 2000 years old when we see it, and its 10,000 light years away, then that means its 12,000 years old.

Though we are a rather small and young galaxy, we tend to have the same derivetives as the ancient ones. Our local solar system is constantly spewing out new ingredients for our universe, I found a pic from SOHO that shows you what I mean:
