macmail, desperate for some assistance!

Need help with macmail guys, im hoping some mac users out there can help me.

Ok, I work for an IT solutions firm, and to this date have little to no experience on macs, yeah yeah i know i know time to broaden my horizons.

anyways,

A user saved ALL his emails into RAW source format.

opened an IMAP Server account, and starting copying EVERYthing across,
so we could open imap on an outlook box, and have windows get his mail.
half way through it stopped.

come the morning, we opened the macmail, and 85% of the mail is missing.
BUT
the inbox.mbox file is still 680MB ( The correct size before we copied and pasted )

Is there anyway, I can import that raw source file into macmail?
why would my mail not be showing up
and would rebuilding help?
