i'm starting to see a pattern (derived from meta-search)

1) Ask.com - not many but very useful links

2) MSN search omg microsoft
still better than google, not quite earth shattering though

3) google - spammed by links, a minimum of useful links, rest is pointless drivel

speaking from personal experience of course, i know it all depends on your field of interest, but does anyone of you know a kick-*** search engine? do you disagree with my rating or is it accurate?

I'll throw my vote to Google.
I find what I want every time.

I've used Alta Vista, Dogpile, Yahoo, and Ask Jeeves in the past, but that was before Google was the powerhouse it is now. Google has been very smart by offering so many different services that I use the news page on a daily basis, I like Google Earth, I have G-Mail, and I use their Image Search.

Google has become omnipresent in my life.
