The letter ended with a profane, seven-letter insult beginning with the letter a - "i think you're an. ..."



Emerson says she can't explain how the offensive language made it into the letter, which otherwise reads like a typical response to a citizen's question about last year's testimony of oil executives before the Senate Commerce Committee.


*snickers*

Well... accidents do happen. If it was done by someone on her staff, I would say that someone is in trouble.

I know that I wouldn't be too happy as a constituent if I received a letter from my Representative like that.

At least the guy that received it didn't make too big a deal out of it.

Good grief.

Okay, I get that using explicatives isn't good, but for crying out loud, politicians are (or were at one point) human, and at least should be allowed a couple of minor screwups like this.

Now I draw the line at one of them trying to dodge assault charges for punching someone.
That's just irresponsible
