'Da Vinci Code' Plaintiffs Fail in Quest to Show Ideas Were Stolen

Let the sequel proceed. And the movie. And probably the movie of the sequel.

A judge ruled yesterday in London that Dan Brown's international bestseller, "The Da Vinci Code," did not steal ideas or thematic elements from an earlier nonfiction book.

Whatever the outcome, it was always going to be a 'win' situation for the authors of both books and Random House. Sales have exploded for 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail' and flagging sales of the 'Da Vinci Code' have been boosted.

Hmmm....

Not to mention promoting the idea's contained within both books to more and more people, and when the movie comes out? Well, then the idea's will be put into even more peoples minds who don't read.

So there could be a conspiracy here, promoting the idea that Jesus' bloodline survived, in the ruling elite of Europe, if lots of people accept this idea, they might be willing to accept a certain prince to rule them.......

Or maybe they're just after more money.

I think it's ridiculous on both authors' accounts (actually all three authors' accounts, since "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" was co-authored). The idea presented in each book has been presented time and time again since the early 1900's. Dan Brown even has a page that admits this in the middle of his story, the part where Robert Langdon and Sophie visit his British friend's manor in the middle of the night.

The "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" guys simply put their book out in 1982, while "Da Vinci Code" came out in 2003. Of course, don't forget about where those guys got the idea from, and who the previous guys got the idea from, etc etc.
