While traveling across the country, President Bush claimed only "sacrifice" helped the goal of complete "victory". With a legacy to build and the
trust of the American people to win back, Mr. Bush continued on his "Iraq" speaking tour. The latest stop found the American leader in Virginia in
front of an audience of 2,000. There, he continued to speak about the virtues of the U.S. engagement with Iraq. Critics still feel that Mr. Bush
does not have any "second thoughts" about his decision despite the emotional toll taken upon the U.S. citizenry. The November 2006 mid-term
elections will prove to be a referendum on the President's support for the conflict in the Middle East.

If anyone was looking for even the slightest hint of second thoughts from those led the US into Iraq, they would have been sorely disappointed on the
third anniversary of a war that is eating into America's soul and that may well reshape its political landscape.
More sacrifice would be required, but "our goal is nothing less than complete victory", President George Bush declared in his weekly radio address
yesterday.
Ignore the doom-mongering, Dick Cheney urged his countrymen on CBS's Face the Nation programme. This was no civil war; rather the insurgents had
reached "a stage of desperation". On both the security and political fronts, Iraq was showing "major progress".

Two major questions must be asked regarding the subject matter. Does Mr. Bush need to apologize for his actions? Should he at least try to make
some effort in making concessions about the failures regarding the second Iraqi War? Only time and the November 2006 elections will tell.
