Wesley Clark's quote on light speed?

Did you guys hear or read Presidential candidate Wesley Clark's latest speech? Ok, it was like a week ago, but I haven't been on in a while. He said that the one thing he believes in (he has great "faith) in this thing) above all else is that we can achieve faster than light speed travel. Hmmmmmmmmm........
Now why would an ex 2-star general/Commander in chief/NATO Supreme Allied Commander say a thing like that? (He also had a lot to say about time travel) Is that his way of hinting at prior knowledge he has about covert military research?
What else do you guys know about ol' Wesley?

I wouldn't get your hopes up...for as intelligent as wesley clark is supposeed to be..he sure seems like an idiot.

Politicians can say stupid things at times, and i believe this was one of them.

He may be a military boy but he doesn't have a Ph.D. in astrophysics so lets leave that sort of thing to experts.

Just a sidenote:

Clark had four stars.

Yes, I'd like to believe that he's hinting we have a captured spaceship or something like that... but my guess is that it was just an off the cuff thing he shot out for dramatic effect.
