The thread was most likely trashed because much of the content posted by the individual starting the thread was not the authors own work which means it was plagiarized.

It was six pages of mostly copy pasted material by the threadstarter. A clear violation of the T&C,

Anyone who was a participant should have maybe alerted the staff earlier and saved it. (They've been a bit busy with this serpo business)
