Venezuela Accuses USA Of Using Embassy To Spy.

The Venezuelan Government has accused Military Officers of passing documents to the Pentagon. Jose Rangel, the Venezuelan vice president has accused USA embassy staff of being involved with some Venezuelan military officers who are reported to have passed state secrets to the Pentagon. Mr Rangel has said he was not surprised at these accusations and he said that members of the US military mission were involved in 2002 with the coup against President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez. US embassy representatives hae stated that Venezuela has not contacted them over the allegations. Mr Rangel did not give any specific details or allegations.



I don't think its anything unusual for any embassy to have spies working for them. Motto is not to get caught though. Chavez may use it as an attempt to get the embassy thrown out of the country but i doubt he would be bold.

Earlier on Friday, Chavez said John Correa, the U.S. naval attache, had bribed Venezuelan army officials for confidential information.
U.S. ambassador to Venezuela William Brownfield did not comment directly on the charges, but said that he had "absolute trust in the people of the U.S. embassy and their desire to maintain and improve bilateral relations."
He said that he would respond to any concrete charges he receives against his officers, but he didn't get any formal reportas the Venezuelan government made the accusations in front of the media.

OMG venezuela is accusing us of spying maybe we should send them an apology gift , perhaps a cruise ship full of white people for the use of slavery and sacrificial execution...JUST DO ANYTHING to make venezuela not mad at us anymore..

Hugo is on a roll, second time in less then a year, amazing. Of course this is what he does every six months or so, accuse us of spying or preparing to invade his country. He offers no proof then disappears for another six months or so, after which he proceeds to start all over again. Purpose? Convince his people how evil the big bad USA is.

honestly, why are you going on this forum to continue the spread of ignorance?

i've never heard of venezuela sacraficing or enslaving anyone.

just do your research, come up with a logical argument, and THEN post.

Embassies typically hold their country's spies... you know, with the diplomatic immunity and whatnot.
