Apple and Intel launched a new partnership in the personal computing universe as they showcased a new line of iMacs sporting Intel processors. The
new intel processors designed for iMacs, titled 'Intel Core Duo' processors, boasts, in essence twin processors on a single chip. Prior to this
announcement, intel had been primarily the processors for strictly Windows based PCs in the consumer market.
Apple Computer Inc.'s historic shift to Intel Corp. microprocessors came earlier than expected Tuesday as CEO Steve Jobs unveiled an updated iMac
computer based on the world's largest semiconductor company's new two-brained chip.
"With (the) Mac OS X (operating system) plus Intel's latest dual-core processor under the hood, the new iMac delivers performance that will knock our
customers' socks off," said [Apple CEO Steve] Jobs.
The Core Duo chip's low energy requirements are expected to enable ever-smaller computers, including some built right into television sets as the
industry gears its machines more toward multimedia use.

Well, interesting stuff in the personal computing front.
First of all, it is another attribute that will continue to boost Apple as a worthy adversary to Windows based personal computers. Along with IPods,
a superior INTEL processor, debuting in iMacs, will not only elevate Apple's prestige, but also heighten their presence in consumer's attentions. A
VERY powerful signal to the world of the presence of Apple... for now and the future.
Next is Intel. They solidify themselves as the outright Caesar / King / Faerie Prince / Fuhrer of the personal computing processor market.
Essentially unchallenged after their push to power their past adversaries, what other processor is feasible to any market that isn't savvy in the
politics of computing?
As the processor, the engine (if you will) of the entire personal computer world, WHAT POWER THIS COMPANY HOLDS OVER SO VERY MUCH! I am no expert in
the conspiracies of Intel. However, the sheer weight of their looming influence, alone, compels me to question just what is going on here.
