Last Dec. 26th the Asian Tsunami occurred and in 2003 the devestating earthquake in Bam, Iran.

Does anyone have any disaster predictions for this year?

Well, that's the day when our Christmas fling is over and the bills start getting tallied up in time for the January sticker shock on how much Christmas cost this year!!

But on a more serious note, the chances, of anything happening on any particular date is 1 in 365.25. The Earth is not aware of calendars -- it sure isn't aware of the American holiday calendar, either (remember that our calendar is just a count of years since an assigned date. It's different dates and months for other cultures. For example, the Jewish year is 5767 and there's all sorts of winter holidays during the December-January time period. There isn't a traditional "day of horrible things".
