Today, the US ambassador to South Korea has blasted the government of North Korea as a "criminal regime", accusing it of taking part in illegal arms
sales, drug trafficking and currency forgery. This latest comment is on the back of North Korean threats to walk out of disarmament talks over it's
nuclear programme.

Alexander Vershbow, US ambassador to South Korea, made the allegations to explain why the US had imposed economic sanctions against the North.
The unusually harsh comments are likely to infuriate North Korea.
The North warned on Tuesday it could walk out of talks on its nuclear plans unless the sanctions were lifted

Although this is breaking news, it is hardly surprising. The US Government has been harshly critical of the North Korean regime for some time, but
this does, however, seem like a bit of a step up in the level of accusations.
It does make one wonder if the US is commited to a diplomatic resolution though, after all, labelling the other side of the table as criminals and
drug dealers is a sure fire way of making them walk out, don't you think?
I think we should just wait and see what response, if any, comes out of PyongYang
