During operation Defensive Shield in April 2002,
IDF soldiers carried out a mock execution of a
Palestinian-Arab prisoner to force his colleagues to
reveal information on hidden weapons. Details of
the incident recently emerged in a military
tribunal trying another case of a reservist
battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel Geva Sagi.

The incident involved three
reservists from a force that
had arrested three armed
Palestinian militants a few
days earlier. The three
Palestinians were questioned
about hidden weapons and when
they refused to respond, one of
them was taken behind an

armored vehicle. Shots were then fired in the
air. The soldiers returned and asked the two
Palestinians: "So, who's next?" The prisoners
then told the soldiers where the weapons were
hidden.

And they were disciplined for this?!?! Crap, the Palestinian-Arabs were not hurt, it was just a mind-game! Would U.S soldiers get punnished for doing this sort of thing in Iraq?

Obviously these tactics aren't working in Iraq as there is nothing of substance to the WMD story.

Torture, executions or mock executions, and even paying off soldiers to give info hasn't worked on these guys for WMD evidence. It worked for finding two of the top brass in the Iraqi government (who could move about fairly freely to hide), but won't work at all on stationary weapons caches.

Well, really what is the big deal?

This seems as a tactic that could work very well, infact this is genious

Nobody dies, but the suspects scared out of their minds, after thinking soldiers just shot their friend will tell the info that the soldiers want.

This is a win-win situation.

It might work. Its a good psyop plan.

It hasnt worked for WMD is Iraq cuz there aint none.

But it can work for other things.

But US soldiers, who have the ever present media everywhere dogging thier every move, would get berated and punished for this, sadly. Even tho its a pretty good psy op tactic.
