I'm sure this something that everyone knows, but I can't seem to come across it.

Why is the O-Zone hole above Antarctica? Surely if it's caused by pollution from cars and other lethal gases, you would immediately assume it to be above somewhere with loads of such gases, like America or Europe.

I've been curious about this, and aren't sure about the subject and if I'm wrong about some the things I've mentioned, sorry.

Global atmospheric circulation patterns makes it all end it up there and does not disperse well from Antarctica.

Mount Erebus in Antarctica is probably the major part of the problem.

It emits about 16 tons of particulates every day.
