Is there one?
Is there truly any feasible alternative to democracy?
I've considered many possibilities:
Communism
Socialism
Monarchy
Technocracy
Tyranny
etc...

I have yet to here of a truly acceptable alternative to democray.
Anyone else?

communism is a good idea in theory but it doesn't work in practice because of corruption. We need a society were we look after the welfare of the collective more than the individual, there is just too much greed in the world.

umm well democracy is the only way, u should govern yourself, there are no true democracies in the world, we elect ppl once a year n thats about all we can do, it's bull #, it would be easy enough to do electronic voting, but u'd need noncorrupted people controlling the voting or else u migth aswell stick to this stupid junk we have now, i like my idea of share everything and the nly thing governmetn can really do is make sure everyone has equal amounts of # worldwide

Correct. What the U.S. and other democracies are under is a republic, not a true democracy. Elected officials decide what is "best" for the people, or as George Bush Sr. called civilians: "fodder units".

A true democracy would have no elected officials making our decisions for us. There would just be lots and lots of public voting happening.

Either way, both systems are corruptible, but I would prefer a real democracy rather than what I am currently living under. It would at least be harder for corporations to influence decisions. They'd have to pay vast numbers of voting stooges to gain any measurable power. Its a lot easier in a republic to just have to pay one stooge to do your bidding.

Of course there is an alternative to democracy. The ...true democracy.

Right now we are having a representative democracy: we elect representatives, and the representatives work to solve our problems.

This clearly does not work, since the representatives are looking after their agentas only.

We need to go back to the ancient way of democracy, where everyone participated in the authorities. We need small local governments that work for us, and we take decisions for ourselves.
