The "You Don't Speak For Me, Cindy" caravan is starting to trickle into Crawford today. With the construction of Camp Qualls on the 22nd, and the recent motorcade of 350 motorbikes steaming through the area.. the arguments and rallies have already begun.. ahead of schedule.

Supporters of George Bush began arriving in Crawford, Texas, at the weekend for counter-demonstrations aimed at an anti-war protest camp near the president's summer retreat.

About 350 Bush loyalists on motorbikes roared past the 200-strong camp started by Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq who has become a figurehead for the US anti-war movement.

Meanwhile, a rival camp was also established in the town, calling itself Fort Qualls in memory of a marine, Louis Qualls. He was also killed in Iraq last year, but his father is a Bush supporter.

Not very many details are coming out about what exactly is going on right now, but I did find a few pictures of people arguing and rallying and so forth..

I'll update this thread as the stories break..

A caravan of a few vehicles, rather than a chartered bus, will take Brown County residents to a pro-Bush rally in Crawford on Saturday, Brown County Veterans Services Officer Billy Murphey said.

Murphey said Thursday that he had decided to cancel the bus because there weren't enough riders to help defray the $1,300 charter fee. Riders would have been asked to donate $25 each toward the cost.

Murphey, who is helping organize the trip, had made tentative plans to charter the 55-seat bus, but said Wednesday that only seven riders had signed up.

He said he anticipates about a dozen residents will make the trip Saturday in four or five vehicles. Travelers will meet the Brownwood Coliseum at 9 a.m. and leave from there, Murphey said.

The rally will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the community center in Crawford, Murphey said.

In order for this to be a protest they actually have to be protesting something, it's just a trumped up political rally to limit any galvanizing effect of the Anti-War crowd in Crawford. I feel sorry for the residents for having to put up with Bush, and these two political groups.

A contributor voting NO on your submission: (submission) (war) Pro-War protests in Crawford begin has indicated they did so because they feel your story is already covered on ATSNN.

This story has not been covered by ATSNN. The story of a pro-war group forming and rallying in California has been covered. This story is in regards to the pro-war camp arriving in Crawford this weekend. Hell, this story is just now starting to trickle into the headlines as we speak.. how can it be a repeat?

Feel free to post any links if I'm incorrect. Thanks.
