So far no deaths reported, but dozens of homes reported swept away after a 9 foot wave came ashore.

Thousands of people fled to high ground Saturday after tidal waves struck coastal villages in Indonesia's tsunami-battered Aceh province, destroying dozens of homes but causing no injuries, officials said.

The waves, three meters (yards) high, smashed into three villages in southern Aceh at around 6 a.m., said Sahnun Ahmad, a seismologist in the provincial capital, Banda Aceh.

"It was not a tsunami," he said. "It was triggered by full moon tides and strong winds."

At least 30 homes built along the shoreline were either damaged or washed away, but no one was hurt, Ahmad said.

Now with today's 7.2 or 7.3 in the Nicobar region, people along the Indian ocean must be totally rattled. Hopefully today's quake will not have any significant affect on Banda aceh.

Hopefully everyone will be evacuated this time and if it does happen, lives won't be lost.
