and now we have Massive Crack Opens Up In Claude Texas?



Could all of the recent large-scale activity be related to climate change?

Not only is fresh water from melting glaciers and mountain runoff threatening to shutdown the gulf stream, it's also shifting weight from land to sea.

The ocean plates are getting heavier and sinking and some land plates are getting lighter and "bouncing" (or rebounding) up.

The planet's weight distribution is being redistributed upon its thin crust so the current equilibrium is being upset. In nature, equilibriums tend to break down very fast and stay broken with something else (a new equilibrium) taking its place.

The Pacific sinking is being felt around the ring of fire and The Canadian Shield getting lighter is causing the localised effect we're seeing in California.

Is the movement out to sea with the few minor tremors in the east and a crack opening up in the middle a sign of stress?

Is something big going on, or about to happen geologically?

This is a fragile earth indeed.

Yes.

We as observers have been watching the earth as a whole for about 50 years. We haven't seen anything yet. Super volcanoes, asteroid impacts, new plates forming, global tremors....

Pure luck/statistics gave us such a nice geologically calm time.
