Again, science is trying to catch up to the Bible. In Genesis, God Created 3 times, verse 1,21 and 27. When He Created in verse 1, He Created the conditions for simple organisms to exist. This is why in verse 20 there wasn't another need for an act of Creation in order to bring forth life from the waters.

Genesis 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

So God brought forth life from the waters, this life was Created in verse 1. What happened next is ASTOUNDING!!! God inserted the code that governs all life, that the waters brought forth abundantly.

Genesis 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

The Bible is so accurate and what's so amazing is that the source code found in introns or what people call "junk DNA", these introns can't be found in bacteria!!!!

THIS IS AWESOME!!! The Bible is accurate!!! This is exactly how it should be according to the Bible. In Genesis 1 God Created the conditions for bacteria to exist, He then brought forth this bacteria from the waters and added introns with the source code of life and then you see the explosion of various species. I also wouldn't be surprised if they find bacteria throughout the universe on various planets. This is because God Created the conditions for bacteria to exist in Genesis 1. However, you will not find intelligent life without introns on earth, these introns hold the source code to mankind and various species.

From August 2004:

Forget waiting for ET to call -- the most likely place to find an alien message is in our DNA, according to an expert in Australia. Professor Paul Davies, from the Australian Centre for Astrobiology at Macquarie University in Sydney, believes a cosmic greeting card could have been left in every human cell. The coded message would only be discovered once the human race had the technology to read and understand it.

He went on to say:

Scientists have recently discovered large sequences of "junk" DNA that contain no genes and appears to be very stable." If ET has put a message into terrestrial organisms, this is surely where to look," said Davies.

See, this source code of life is like the operating system for the organism. This is why you see various species, because the encoded operating system tells the organism what to do. This couldn't have been a result of evolution, because in order for the organism to evolve, the operating system had to be fully in place.

Here's some more:

Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, commented that "DNA is like a software program, only much more complex than anything we've ever devised."

Can you imagine something more intricate than the most complex program running on a supercomputer being devised by accident through evolution—no matter how much time, how many mutations and how much natural selection are taken into account?

The article goes on to say:

As Lee Strobel explains: "The data at the core of life is not disorganized, it's not simply orderly like salt crystals, but it's complex and specific information that can accomplish a bewildering task—the building of biological machines that far outstrip human technological capabilities"

Lastly:

Although written thousands of years ago, King David's words about our marvelous human bodies still ring true. He wrote: "For You formed my inward parts, You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and WONDERFULLY made . . . My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and SKILLFULLY WROUGHT. ." (Psalm 139:13-15, emphasis mine).

I think that DNA points to a Common Designer, so you would expect man and ape to share source code. It’s just like Microsoft Word and Microsoft Works. They may share some of the same source code but they are different programs that have the same designer(Microsoft). This is the same thing with mankind and other species, we share some of the same source code because we share a Common Designer.

On more:

"Junk DNA" is actually the "software" that allowed complex organisms to evolve, according to an Australian molecular biologist.

Professor John Mattick of Queensland University's Institute of Molecular Bioscience argues that scientists have been too focused on the protein-production role of DNA and ignored its role in helping to put all the proteins together at the right time and place. (the operating system, my words).

I too have a problem accepting that this "operating system" evolved. I think it's a prime example of something that's Irreducibly complex.

I agree with you here, the problem is that this may not be provable/testable or falsifiable. IOW even if were right there's no way to prove it.

I agree here also, makes sense to me that the "design" of all life should be similar, if it's from the same "designer".

Source:
Similarity (‘homology’) is not evidence for common ancestry (evolution) as against a common designer (creation). Think about a Porsche and Volkswagen ‘Beetle’ car. They both have air–cooled, flat, horizontally–opposed, 4–cylinder engines in the rear, independent suspension, two doors, boot (trunk) in the front, and many other similarities (‘homologies’). Why do these two very different cars have so many similarities? Because they had the same designer! Whether similarity is morphological (appearance), or biochemical, is of no consequence to the lack of logic in this argument for evolution.

If humans were entirely different from all other living things, or indeed if every living thing was entirely different, would this reveal the Creator to us? No! We would logically think that there must be many creators rather than one. The unity of the creation is testimony to the One True God who made it all (Romans 1:18–23).

"Junk DNA" is actually the "software" that allowed complex organisms to evolve,....

Yes junk DNA is not junk or the worthless leftover/by-product of evolution.

Within a chromosome or a genome, the "junk" DNA are those portions of the DNA for which no function has been identified. The term "junk" is recognized as something of a misnomer, especially in light of the fact that molecular biology is a young science and segments of DNA may function in additional ways that have not yet been discovered. Recent work, as of 2004, suggests that junk DNA may indeed perform unrecognized functions.en.wikipedia.org...

yes, thanks for this post!

As a non-scientist, I can barely understand all this but it does fit with what my mind finds most logical - that religion (a broadly used word to describe a belief in a Creator) is completely compatible with the fledgling science of evolution and genetics. I can never understand those who cannot accept that evolution was "invented" by God.

The really curious thing about this post is the last sentence - thanking Jesus? Jesus was nowhere in this story and it seems almost insulting to God, the Creator, to credit Jesus with any of this.

Thats not what the bible says. The bible says

And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky."

Let water have lots of living things in it is pretty different from 'let life come from water.

What happened next is ASTOUNDING!!! God inserted the code that governs all life, that the waters brought forth abundantly.

er

So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

And this has nothing to do with DNA at all.

In Genesis 1 God Created the conditions for bacteria to exist, He then brought forth this bacteria from the waters and added introns with the source code of life and then you see the explosion of various species.

You realize that you fabricated this story yourself and that its got nothing to do with whats actually in the bible, right?

This [having dna] couldn't have been a result of evolution, because in order for the organism to evolve, the operating system had to be fully in place.

Why would that be so?? evolution is merely the change in populations over time. There's no reason to think that dna, like that found in higher animals, had to exist in total before evolution could operate.

Can you imagine something more intricate than the most complex program running on a supercomputer being devised by accident through evolution

Well, yeah, why not? Evolutiuon should create extremely complex things. If it was allways making really simple, uncomplex things, that'd be strange.

It’s just like Microsoft Word and Microsoft Works. They may share some of the same source code but they are different programs that have the same designer(Microsoft).

Except that computer programs don't run around in the wild, reporoducing and evolving naturally. We see organisms do this, and we realize that this process is actually a powerful process. We don't see computer humping in offices and making little computers that are subject to natural selection, so it'd be silly to say that they do.
