For me, I reckon turn based games are much better overall than RTS. They are much more to do with strategy and are what real strategy games are all about. I just hope game developers still stick with the turn based genre, since the Civilzation series is the greatest PC game ever. I just cannot wait for Civ 4. Many of you also agree that turn based is better?

Both strategy formats have their merits, turn based are often seen as more thinking games where you can spend longer thinking on a issue/problem, RTS strategy games often require quick thinking where a really bad choice can mess up your nation/city/etc.

I current play Rome: Total War which is pretty swish (its a turn based) and does require thinking, do i focus on the economy but get conquered by a military nation..or do i focus on military and find i can't afford to support the troops.

I guess rather than look at the strategy format its best to look at the quality of game first.
