Mid afternoon; Lawton Oklahoma.. A young woman now 9 months pregnant heads to a storm shelter with her 3 young daughters. A tornado warning has been issued.

After the worst of the storm passed the young woman was in labor and about to give birth when she was escorted to a hospital...

Not long after that I was forced from my mother's womb into this world and my life began...

For the most part many of us forget the true meaning of our mothers.. and what they do for us, and just how truely important they are to us throughout our lives.

I can reflect on my mother with great pride. She was always there when needed most.. When I was sick, needed anything, was hungry, afraid, or needed to be set straight with tough love... When we are children and are hurt Mother is our first thought.. and usually our first source of comfort.

The amazing part for me is that even though it is almost 40 years since my birth.. My mother was still there for me at a time of crisis in my life.. dealing with health issues.. and I was amazed to find that same source of comfort and unconditional love at a time when I thought I could go no lower.

I traveled to my childhood home, and spent some time with my sisters, their families, and most of all my mother.. and it was like all the years had passed but nothing had changed.. I thank God I still have my mother, and on this special day...

A special word of thanks to ALL mothers out there...

God Bless You!

Happy Mother's Day

beautiful gazz. thank you for sharing.

I have never had the best of relationships with my mother, she wasn't there for me during some of the times I thought I need her, but she was there for me most of time and for that I am always grateful. As an adult I have come to learn that my mom is a unique and complex individual like myself and as I age, I have learned to forgive and keep the past in the past. I'm a glad and thankful for the relationship I now have with my mother. Happy Mother's Day

Now I have tears in my eyes. Some of us enter the world under more stressful situations than others. I can't imagine what that must have been like for your mom, in labor, in a storm shelter, waiting for you to come into the world?

Thanks for sharing
