Global reaction

World leaders have mostly made postive comments about Tony Blairs election victory. John Howard seem struck between a friend and his political views. No word yet from the Whitehouse but Bush is probaly taking a nap in the oval office lol.

My natural sympathies in British politics of course do lie with the other side, the Conservatives, and I wish them well.

But I have long regarded Mr Blair's courage on the issue of Iraq as displaying strong leadership. He had to fight very strong opposition within his own ranks and the steadfastness and commitment he displayed on that issue certainly impressed me and I believe many others who shared his convictions and my convictions on the issue of Iraq.

The only statment to break the mould is this one.

The British people expressed no interest in human values and human rights... They supported the war that was fought on the basis of lies and disinformation.
