BAGHDAD, Iraq - President Jalal Talabani and his two vice presidents approved most of a proposed Cabinet for Iraq's transitional government that would reflect Iraq's religious and ethnic diversity, officials said Thursday.

Seven of the ministers would be women, al-Jaafari said.

On Wednesday, Lamia Abed Khadouri al-Sakri, 50, a Shiite Muslim legislator, was killed at her home, becoming the first elected official slain since millions of Iraqis voted in the country's landmark election for parliament on Jan. 30.

Well this looks like a step in the right direction. Hopefully it will work. Although with all the violence over this, and the shiite legislator being killed it doenst look very good. Alot of violence going on as stated in the article. Hopefully with the new cabinet they can find peace.

This could be a step in the right direction for Iraq if the following happens.
Bush and his cronies worry more about the quality rather then the quantity of Iraqs sercuity forces.
If the USA and its allies pull out of Iraq and leave the joke known as Iraqi sercuity forces in charge the whole country will fall into civil war.

However I did see a news report on TV about GIs training Iraqi special forces but given that Iraqi regular forces are of poor quality you have to wonder about Iraqi "special forces."
Its not to late to improve the quality of Iraqs sercuity forces.

Remember staying in Iraq longer then some would like is better then the price of failuare.
