Scavengers Reign is Genius

It's been many years since I've watched anything as imaginative or creative as Scavengers Reign. Forget the fact it's an anime, the writing and the visuals are extremely impressive and entrancing.

The basic premise is some people get stranded on an exotic alien planet which is teeming with strange forms of life. The detail which goes into these life forms and their strange biology is what makes this show so genius.

I've never seen a show which was able to make an alien planet feel truly alien, but this show manages to do it. Watching it ellicits the same sort of feelings I get when watching a doco about the strange life forms on Earth.

The same harshness we see in nature doesn't just apply to Earth, it also applies to any environment which is full of life forms competing for resources and territory, and Scavengers Reign perfectly captures that phenomenon.
