This is looking to be a long stint for him.

They want civilians out of the North. Hence the bulk of tunnels are under Gaza City. Hamas is saying "Israel is lying" don't evacuate.

This is going to be brutal. 100% chance of causalities well in excess of 25k. Many are going to die. All hostages will likely die.

This is the most expert urban warfare mission in the history of missions. May all IDF men amd woman be graced with good fortune.

Israeli is not going to go out of the way to kill Palestinians, but their going to have to get through a hell of a lot of them.

Iran is going to succeed in their goal of polarizing the Muslim world against US/Israel with the "hide like a bitch" tactic. That way they can twist and sell it to people that buy the Muslim victim card.

I just don't think there is a simple strategy here and history has a part to play here.

Immediate ceasefire and negotiations are the best possible solution. The people here in this thread and elsewhere who are asking for prolonged conflict don't understand what they are asking for.

Releasing the hostages it will be a good step. But there must be a ceasefire as well as a humanitarian corridor because there is nowhere these 1.2 million people can go after thru have been ordered to leave the North of the country.

The UN said this is impossible and the order must be reversed.

Ceasefire isn't impossible. This is the position of those who want the conflict to go on forever.

Pressures need to be applied to both sides by the rest of the world and talks must start asap. At one point they must have to sit down and discuss. The sooner the better.

A French teacher has been stabbed and killed, others wounded, by an assailant who shouted "Allahu Akbar" inside a high-school in Arras #France. The assaillant has been detained.
