I kneel in the glade and listen
Just my breathing, the wind, and the rain
Breathing slows, becomes calm, I open within
Then the songs come

Softly the rhythm and beat fills my mind
Slowly my spirit begins to dance with the wind
I am taken to places others will never know
The without takes me to the within

A peace fills me as the rain increase
A stronger beat, harsher tempo arouses me
My spirit swirls about calling for more
I sing at the sky, and await my answer

I feel it's approach well before it arrives
Long have I known the feel it's approach
The first gentle tingle, the new smell of the wind
I breathe deep as I feel it's power grow

Then the first brillant flash of a strike
The rumbling chorus of it's bass refrain
Then multiplies as the power is released
The glorious power of it washes over me

I gather of the power what I may
I dance with the storm as it reaches it's climax
Singing as it gives the beat and the lead
Building my tempo as it builds it's own

I kneel in the glade in invigorated exhaustion
The storm is fading as all storms do
I have given given and taken that which was needed
Upon the next storm, I shall be here again

And again, we will sing and dance as one
Both giving and taking energy from the other
Until at last we are both filled and drained
Then to rest and await our next tryst

Written in my college comp class few years ago.
