Why The British Isles!

Why on earth did we Brits decide to inhabit the British isles. The British empire was massive and we could have had just about anywhere in the world to live so why did we stay here? We may be an island fortress but so is Australia. Why oh why didnt we choose somewhere like India where its nice and warm and full of tea???

Britain is full of tea too, the only difference being that it's all stuffed in little bags with a string attached, so why move elsewhere, which is always such a hassle. Apart from that, the one and only Speaker's Corner is in Hyde Pork, where you can spend a pleasant summer afternoon listening to the craziest theories. And not only that, but the prettiest crop circles you could ever imagine are constantly cropping up all over the British Isles. Also, you don't have a mainland threatening you with invasion at all times. What are you complaining about then?

So you could have contests to see who could swim across the english channel the fastest of course.

I'm guessing this is a sarcastic question, but 'us' being on the British Isles is due to its brilliant location, and the fact people kept invading and killing the locals, the celts did it, the romans to a small extent, then the saxons and angles etc

Australia is in an even better location. Miles from anyone so hard to mount an invasion, and its hot!!!

British isles is the perfect defense position...oil to the east...atlantic to the west...miles from the enemy land forces...
Laser tech doesnt work here and well we have all seen what happens at the end of england football matches...I dont think even the british army is brave enough to take THAT on..
And we have the NI and scottish to absolutely waste anyone that comes over the border.....plus we have midgies!
