The Japanese have transformed Earthquake Damage Mitigation into an artform. There's no nation better prepared, better staffed, better funded. They
never ask for help because they simply don't need it.
I mean, think about it..if you lived in a neighborhood where every month a rabid jumbo pelican steals a baby, you'd install a rabid pelican defense
system, right?
Japanese disaster relief and search and rescue teams are right up there in the top five of the world, along with Canadian, Swiss, American and German.
They also have the best earthquake resistant/proof buildings on the planet, and the quickest response times of any nation (last I knew). So, in the
end, they'll be fine.
Have faith in the power of the tiny island chain.
