This whatever it does not seem to display the characteristics of any previously detected quasars, pulses or other know galactic phenomena. Australian Scientists are puzzled as to whether this is a one off anomaly or some new regular radioactive pulser not seen before.

energy emitting mystery object

My guess is that it is some sort of plasma eddy, like ball lightning?

It would be interesting to know if it has any magnetic,or gravitational field?
Judging by its description as a Magnetar, it may have a magnetic field.

My question is .. Is it stationary and still 4000 light years away ? If its a radio lobe or a pulsar heading at us we might be in trouble.

Phssthpok the Pak had been traveling for most of his thirty-two thousand years. His mission: save, develop, and protect the group of Pak breeders sent out into space some two and a half million years before...

the breeders are us. maybe it's his ships engine?

It's just one of the galaxy's navigational beacons. It pulses for 1 minute every 18 minutes so you can update your ships clocks.
