NBC news did a hate piece on Zero Hedge which was basically lies an "Walla" Google decided to demonetize advertising for Zero Hedge . You can look at the google funded Youtube and look at the mainstream sites will always be the fist that come up during a search even though the non-mainstream youtubers have more views and probably contain more truth and less propaganda.

If they ever brake up Google or at least change the way they arbitrarily decide who they will allow to make a living then fine with me for IMO they have become just another NWO socialist puppet.

That said, we were surprised by the framing of the suspension by the NBC article, which disturbingly appears to be another attempt at activist targeting of inconvenient media outlets, especially since the core argument presented by the NBC employee is different than what Google actually has said. In fact, half the NBC article just happens to be dead wrong.

The Federalist was never demonetized.

It is also notable, the two articles that are referenced in the NBC article - which in turn is based on a complaint by some self-appointed arbiter of free speech, the UK-based liberal Center for Countering Digital Hate - were not ours, but were contributor op-eds by third parties (here and here) one of which is from 2016. Do we now live in a time when ad platforms will suspend, say, the New York Times for publishing highly controversial Op-Eds?

We were also surprised that the NBC journalist activist who wrote the inaccurate article, Adele-Momoko Fraser, deleted a tweet in which she admits to actively collaborating with "Stop Funding Fake News" and the Center for Countering Digital Hate.

Aww. Too bad.
No monies for Zerohedge. So sad.

I love that you quoted Zerohedge's op-ed though. That's awesome ironic.

Good life lesson for free for ya.
Pay any and all op ed pieces no mind. They are all complete crap and serve no purpose but to deceive you.
I take crypto for my services! This one was free but for future service.

Google controls 70% of all on line advertising. If Google speaks you listen or they will bankrupt your online company.

Google and the rest of the communication cartels aren't the be all, end all of getting out your messages (much less making a buck in the process). Maybe those Google users aren't the type of audience they really need.

So what, Google doesn't want to pay ZH, big deal and I actually visit that site occasionally. Maybe they could do better on their webpages, not that they, or their advertisers, will be getting their hands on my money anytime soon.

If ZH was truly serious about getting out their messages, they'd be spending more than they bring in. People won't use a search engine to find anything unless a subject comes to mind, most likely from social media like FB, programs on television or advertising of some kind that they were exposed to.

sounds like the 'right' people should have majored in the sciences a little more instead of business monopolies back in the 80s and 90s.

they would have had the know-how and cohesion to start tech companies like the 'left' did in the early 2000s.

it's weird how much the right hates silicon valley and yet, they cry when they are pried off from suckling the on t!t they love to demonize.

Google does as Google does....just like the president; technically all above board.(wink)

force them to start their own propaganda machines, the left's at full capacity.

Google was started by a college kid in his mom's garage with military grade gps tracking and mapping software using free satellites.
It's true. There is absolutely no way they are glowies.
No way their purpose is to control the flow of information.
They have paid millions to allow alternative ideas.
I love google.
(As my phone steals this text for "spelling" keylogging in their server forever)
There is no gov oversight, because they run it. Probably with your missing 911 money.
Same category as Darpas lifelog program. Shut down by congress and reopened privately as Facebook, to avoid obvious legal issues.

NBC did the hit job on both The Federalist and ZeroHedge.

Google couldn't keep its story straight on why.

Neither NBC News nor Google offered a single example backing up their contention that the Federalist has peddled racist sentiments about Black Lives Matter. As far as I can ascertain, their problem is with one piece:

The Federalist published an article claiming the media had been lying about looting and violence during the protests, which were both included in the report sent to Google.

There is plenty of justification for the offending argument. Major networks have consistently downplayed the rioting and looting that have taken place over the past few weeks because such activity undermines the notion that Black Lives Matter is wholly peaceful. You may disagree with the characterization, but it’s certainly not bigoted. Black Lives Matter shouldn’t be shielded from criticism. No one should be.

Everyone by now has seen the meme of the CNN reporter claiming the protests are mostly peaceful while standing in front of burning buildings. But sure, it's racist and bigoted to criticize BLM over the fact that riots did break out at many of their protests.

As it turns out, a Google spokesperson told Ad Week that NBC News got the story wrong, and that Google only notified the Federalist they “could” be demonetized, and that it was the site’s comments section that was in violation. Then Google told Ad Week that the site would be demonetized, but that the Federalist could rectify the situation. Both comments contradict the initial statement made by the Google spokesperson, not to mention the entire NBC story.

Would Google really demonetize sites over their comment sections? Has such a standard ever been used for a political website?

And supposedly, Google is raising a huff over the site's comments section. So I guess if you have comments now, you can't have the wrong comments? I've been in the Federalist's comments section. They police the truly despicable stuff. It's not like the Stormfront people regularly roll in there and have comments left standing. But people can and do criticize things like happens here.

This isnt really about a search engine..

I think people still confuse the full extent of Alphabet Inc with a single search engine, and thats a mistake.

I dont really use zero hedge, but google and facebooks monopoly in this sector has been becoming a problem for quite some time.

Ideally, we can set up successful competitors to the online ad market. Many ways to look at it, and maybe the way its done isnt the best in the first place. Admittedly though, the monster that is Alphabet Inc is quite extensive at this point.

Been reading zerohedge since 2008. I opened up the wallet and donated to them last night. $40 I figure I've gotten easily that much enjoyment out of them over the past 12 years. One of the few Alt- opinion/ news sites that I'd consider subscribing to.

The comment section really only got bad after 2016 election. I've long wondered how much of that was organic and how much was organized.

We've all known this was coming. They've been saving this for the ramp-up to the election. Big tech is going all in to try to help the Democrats win.

Legacy media is the lion in winter. Coughing and cursing, it feverishly plots the demise of its competition even as the power to do so slips from its withered grasp.

Former juggernauts such as NBC are not dead yet, so they wield what power they still have recklessly. All it took was an accusation. Not even from peacock brass, but an activist/journalist who supports Black Lives Matter…and Google demonetized both Zero Hedge and the Federalist. The allegation? Racism, of course.

To anyone who regularly reads the content of either site, the charge is patently false. One could fairly accuse ZeroHedge of overly gloomy financial predictions, or of stirring the American political pot. Racism? No. The Federalist is even more buttoned-down, rarely straying from the straight and narrow of conservative reporting on culture, politics, and religion.

At least demonetization was the original claim. Conservative Twitter exploded, then the backpedaling began. The narrative gained focused as yesterday afternoon wore on. The specific charge emerged: the comment sections of the two sites traffic in racist thought.

This is the equivalent of charging the owners of a building for graffiti scrawled upon its walls by vandals.
