So I'm binging on Rome the series of some yrs back, but I caught some thing I totally over looked the first time I saw it, the flooring of the palace of the Ptolemies were made of sand?? It seemed a simple thing but how true was that, I've always imagined that the palace of the Pharaohs were scrupulously scrubbed and shiny like in other movies.
So folks with more knowledge than mine, was it so.

They are still discovering simple things the Egyptians took for granted that make huge differences today

'An accidental discovery in a restaurant

Qian Wang, Ph.D., a professor at Peking University and an adjunct professor at VCU, was dining in a restaurant in Beijing with her husband when she noticed artwork on the wall depicting pentagon tiles from the streets of Cairo.'
