I think politics should be more like sports

You have your team, but you can hang out with the other team. You can still talk some trash but you can also admit that they play well or did something good.

Politics needs to move closer to sports. Take a road trip to follow your team. You can have conversations about the pluses and minuses of your team and what needs to be improved.

Stop prefacing your responce to political ideas. So and so is so stupid but I agree with that. That party is like a broken clock and this is one time they are correct. Just say I like that idea, just like you would say, that’s a nice catch or a great goal.

Politics are more like pro wrestling.

Lots of yelling.
Colorful characters.
Many promises.

Both sides share a locker room while projecting the idea that they are against each other when really the outcome has been predetermined.

In addition the politicians should also be required to wear jackets and hats with their sponsors proudly displayed.

Aint that the truth.
Always amazed me how they can all say such vile things about each other during elections, then afterwards be all huggy and back slappy. Bunch of rotton phonies

And politicians should be drug tested, they should also act in the best interests of the people who are paying their salaries as well.

Agreed, politics should be settled in the ring by ancient rite.

Welcome to multiculturalism.

Politics is like sports!

You have two "political teams" and your fans will root for their team no matter how wrong they are! Fans in the stands attack and ridicule others who don't support their team. It's exactly how conservatives and liberals call each other names! The party system creates nothing but an uncompromising and divisive environment!

-Instead, there shouldn't be "teams" (political labels).

-Legislation would no longer be passed based upon the "stronger team" (political majority beliefs).

-Their wouldn't be the butting of heads and fan attacks against the other "political team."

-If we didn't have "political teams" more would be done on behalf of the (people's interest) and not the "team owners" influences (corporate interests).

Politics certainly needs to be taken a lot less seriously in the west. When the factions get this fanatical, control orientated and bloodthirsty only bad things can happen as a result. And when it is like this even when you win, you lose. It doesn't matter which side you lean to if you lean too far in either direction you're going to fall down.

Our politics needs to be rebooted from the center. There is really nothing that dire facing our civilization in these modern times (with the exception of maybe A.I., but that is a topic for another thread) that we can't solve with level-headed, cordial conversation and the simple application of evidence and reason.

Sports don't cost us anymore money than we are directly deciding to pay as individuals, nor do sports adversely impact our rights, freedoms, and future. You're trying to compare a mindless passtime to something which can mindlessly destroy everything in our lives.

Along with that. They should wear a getup like the race car drivers that show their sponsors.
