Mother has been gone since 2014.
I wish I could say that it is easier, I can't I'm sorry.
It is just different.

Oh, hmm Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play

My world is changing
I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too
Where are you Christmas
Do you remember
The one you used to know

I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go

Christmas is here
Everywhere, oh Christmas is here
If you care, oh If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time

Oh, I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away,
oh The joy of Christmas
Stays here inside us

Fills each and every heart with love

Where are you Christmas

Fill your heart with love

And in honor of Mom...one of her favorites...EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!!
LOL

Ok, I hope I don't take the thread too far into left field with this, but every year, it is tradition to never, ever start listening to Christmas music until after you leave the big family Thanksgiving ... even if you don't have it until the weekend after the real Thanksgiving as my family often does (it's more important for us to be together than to celebrate on *the* day).

And since my family has a sense of humor, it is also tradition to listen to this song at least once. It is what we widely believe to be the worst rendition of "Jingle Bells" ever.

None of us like. It is the family Christmas music joke. It never, ever takes off and you spend the whole song thinking it will. So it's at once horribly mismatched and entirely frustrating. And the best thing ever is to inflict it on new family members because almost no one has ever heard it. Then, the laughter is even more.

After that ...

But honestly, I like Carol of the Bells almost no matter what.

And this one always brings a tear to my eye. It's powerful to me.

Second Christmas here without my mum.

I miss doing the family thing.

Luckily the kids keep my mind busy. And my wallet.

This one is old school, but there's a great message related in it...

And something to rock out to...

Oh, I had forgotten all about "Silver and Gold." Burl Ives, that man was Christmas it seems... the living, breathing version of Santa Claus, and he could sing.

Just not the reason for Christmas... that would be Jesus.

I like Run Run Rudolf. When I first heard that I had to grab a bass and figure out how to play that bass line.
That was a different version though I think. I'd rather learn the guitar in lenny Kilmister's version.

I watched Rudolph for the first time in years and heard silver and gold.
As kids if we missed that or the Grinch Who Stole Christmas we had to wait another year to see it.

I love this song from Home Alone - Somewhere In My Memory.
