Collegian exhange/Interview on CNN

Just switched TV on and saw the last part of a Interview with two students from Iraq..they´ve been interviewed by Jim Clancy from CNN.

They talk about a collegian exhange program. Exhange means: one guy leaves the USA and join a university in e.g. Baghdad. As consideration a guy from Iraq, like the on CNN, joins a university in the USA...isn´t it a bit dangerous to study in Baghdad as american citizen? I just think about it..Who would join in??
