Aren't statistics lovely!

Check this out:

According to a British survey, 25% of all car accidents in the UK are caused by drink-driving, so in effect 75% were caused by non-drink-driver's!

Technically, it would be safer for us British to drink and drive than not!

Can anyone think of anymore twisted statistics?

(By the way, don't go out drink-driving on my account!)

One-and-a-half million children disappear in America each year.

Here are some more crazy statistics, I particularly like the vending machine one:

The tip of a 1/3 inch long hour-hand on a wristwatch travels at 0.00000275 mph.
At least 2 people die every year from vending machines falling on them.
It is estimated that at any one time, 0.7% of the world's population are drunk.
More than 2500 left handed people are killed every year from using right handed products.
It's against the law in Chicago to eat in a place that is on fire.
Odds of being killed in a tornado- 1 in 2 million.
The longest recorded flight of a chicken is 13 seconds!

I especially enjoy hearing death statistics. If someone had the time to add up all of them and see if they truly do add up to the mortality figures for a given year for a certain country. That would be interesting to see if they really are legitimate or just a bunch of made up garbage.

Statisticly more ice cream is sold in the summer months.
Statisticly more voilent crimes occur during summer.

Hence the elevated consumption of ice cream is the cause for the rise of violent crime.

Some more statistics to amuse you ben:

On average, 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens every year.
430,391 Deaths each year are caused by toilet related accidents.
Every year, about 6,500 Americans are injured by their toilet seats.
Every year 11,000 Americans injure themselves while trying out bizarre sexual positions.
