During his trip in Europe, while speaking to reporters, President George Bush denied any plans to attack Iran, stating it was simply "ridiculous". The Bush Administration opposes Iran's nuclear ambitions and is open to European led talks to sweeten the pot for Iran to change it's stance.

"This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous. Having said that, all options are on the table," Bush said after discussing the issue with European allies.

Bush used his bluntest language yet to give assurance to Iran's leaders. Last week, in a series of pre-trip interviews with European journalists, he also tried to dispel talk of a military attack, an issue that has been raised repeatedly since the United States went to war with Iraq primarily over its alleged weapons of mass destruction. No such weapons have been found in Iraq.

On Iran, Bush has walked a careful line in expressing support for a European-led approach offering Iran technological, financial and political support in return for scrapping its uranium enrichment program.

"It's in our interests for them not to have a nuclear weapon," Bush said in a news conference with European Union leaders.

The United States has refused to get involved in the bargaining with Tehran or to make commitments about incentives, insisting that Tehran abandon its program.

Now that it is in writing and openly being stated by the President that the U.S. has no intentions to attack Iran, let's see if the all the recent conjecture about secretly planned attacks will stop. It will be interesting to see if the President goes back on his words and what type of incident would cause him to do so.

Bush has denied that an attack on Iran is planned.
Expect it to begin within six months or so.

By denying plans of an Iranian attack in a world forum, I think it would have to be something really big such as a the start of major MidEast conflict and the US takes Israel side, and sends troops to help Israel. Maybe I am being naive but I really don't see this Iran operation. I think that maybe Bush has finally realized that he has his hands full with Afghanistan and Iraq. There are other ways of getting things accomplished in Iran other than military action. Give them free access to western media, help their local movements, all are better options that getting our soldiers involved in another mess.

Big surprise.

Having said that, all options are on the table.

Bush is not going to come out and say he is going to attack Iran, he is probably going to make it look as if he was forced into attacking Iran.

But I doubt that is going to happen. His popularity is in the ditch already with Iraq and the last thing he wants is to look like a power hungry war monger, before leaving White House.

Bush says no attack-

Not until the next 9/11 like fiasco which is in all probability being planned by the ones who really call the shots.

Anybody else see this? One breath is stating ,"No to Iran war," the second breath is stating, "Anything is possible." The "anything is possible," would include an Iranian conflict. As a logic statement, Bush contradicted himself.

Typical Bushism............

Edit.......missed your post, surfup.

Bush is telling a half-truth, he would rather take the oil that he wants without a war. Though that won’t happen, Israel will attack Iran or Iran attacking Israel.
Bushie will jump in because he said he would back his Israeli friends. Corporate America gets the oil, and Joe Sixpack gets to pay the bill and bury his child who died for the Corporate United States of Merika.

ipso facto

You can't deny the fact that President Bush denying the fact that war plans are in the making is the mark of an excellant leader!

Tell me, just what is he suppose to do? Give away our war plans and let the enemy know what we're up to?

The United States hasn't got any war plans in place to attack any nation!

Let me get out of here before lightning strikes!
