Oldest Human Fossils Dated

Humans have finally been dated as far back as 195,000 years ago, from the previous dating of 160,000 years ago. The currently dated bones were found 40 years ago in Ethiopia near the Omo River. I'm a little surprised it took this long for it to be dated. Either way, atleast it was done, and now we have a better understanding of when Humans first came to be.

And without a doubt, in another decade or two it will be pushed back to 250,000 years ago, lol.

thats an intresting find....and quite a jump from what was already known.....wonder what the next ones discovered will date to?

What method was used to date the fossils?

And it makes me wonder why some people question the age human life. Some think we've been around for less than a fraction of that time.
