NSA shooting does not appear to be terrorism, but motive remains mystery

Three people were injured Wednesday when intruders in an SUV tried to ram through a barrier at the Maryland military base where the National Security Agency is headquartered — and gunfire broke out, officials said.

But the motive for the incident at Fort Meade, which erupted around 7 am ET, remains a mystery, FBI Special Agent in Charge Gordon Johnson said.

"We don't believe there is an nexus to terrorism, we believe this was an isolated incident," Johnson said. "We are still trying to figure out why they were there."

I searched and didnt see this on ATS. I figured we should have a thread about it.

It seems there was another attempted forced entry into NSA headquarters.

3 men had gate security shoot their vehicle after it rammed the gate. Their vehicle was disabled by a concrete divider.

Authorities say its not tied to terrorism. It could just be a crazy or could be something else.

We may never know.

Now you know. Try to drive into the NSA HQ and you will go 10 seconds before they shoot you.

The only injuries sustained were from the vehicle, not gun shots. No one was gravely injured, including the driver that had only minor injuries as reported.

So far there is only one video from a news helicopter and some images from that video.

The vehicle had New York plates, and Johnson said the FBI believes the vehicle was a rental car.

Johnson cited the ongoing investigation in declining to answer a number of questions — including whether the vehicle’s occupants were armed or fired at officers, or how the vehicle ended up facing an outbound direction from the gate

Yeah and neither link tells you much. If a helicopter coincidentally was in the area at the exact time this happened, where's the footage from that?

That would explain why they were facing the exit. I wondered if maybe the police turned it around to search it.

That would make a lot more sense.

Two employees caught spying inside the NSA, attempted to leave the premises with classified info on them, when they were forcefully stopped by NSA security, and captured. That's a narrative I'd believe.

Of course, they'd change the story to keep it all quiet. Because, then we'd all want to know what was so important these guy found that they risked their life and careers to take out of the NSA, maybe to post on the internet.

Two of the men who were arrested Wednesday at Fort Meade — where the driver of an SUV attempted to enter the National Security Agency compound — have been released, and the third has been handed over to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI said Thursday.

Javonte Alhajie Brown, 24, of Washington, was turned over to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday evening on an active warrant for unpaid child support, spokesman Deputy Christopher Adams said. No phone number was listed for Brown’s address. He was expected to be released Thursday afternoon, Adams said. The FBI did not release the names or ages of the other men, and the agency did not provide any updates on the injured people’s conditions. Fitz said he did not expect to provide a second update Thursday.

Not much so far. Hmmmm....warrant for unpaid child support? That's it? For crashing into a government property????

Apparently they made a wrong turn. The driver went to sleep and an unlicensed young man took over. He panicked when he saw guns and didnt stop.
