Nikola Launches Stunning Truck for European Market

PHOENIX, AZ (November 5, 2018) — In response to widespread interest from European customers, Nikola Motor Company has created a hydrogen-electric truck for European markets.

Reservations for the Nikola Tre (means “Three” in Norwegian) are now open at www.nikolamotor.com/tre.

Nikola is currently working with Nel Hydrogen of Oslo to provide hydrogen stations for USA. “Nel has been good to work with for our USA station design and rollout. We will work with Nel to secure resources for our European growth strategy. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but with the right partners, we can accomplish it,” said Kim Brady, Nikola Motor Company CFO.

By 2028, Nikola is planning on having more than 700 hydrogen stations across the USA and Canada. Each station is capable of 2,000 to 8,000 kgs of daily hydrogen production. Nikola’s European stations are planned to come online around 2022 and are projected to cover most of the European market by 2030.

To date, the company has approximately eleven billion dollars in pre-order reservations.

The Tre can fully loaded with "true level 5 autonomy" (whatever that means). Nearly all systems are redundant.

With 11 billion in pre-order reservations, I guess they will need to create their own hydrogen infrastructure. With a plan of having 700 stations across the US and Canada that looks exactly like what they are doing. Kind of like, "If you build it, they will come," but for hydrogen.

Nikola Two has not even hit the streets and they are offering the Tre. That is big news.

Hey, they had an IPO through merger under the ticker VTIQ last month if you didn't hear. It's under a blank check acquisition company until the ticker goes to NKLA.

Not sure what the conversion ratio will be though... It's trading at 13~ a share for now.
