Bat out of Hell

Late 70's and for a teenage me owning the Bat Out of Hell album was almost a right of passage , the title track was an anthem for a young Yamaha Fizzy riding apprentice biker and All Revved Up the story of my life , the genius and epic writing of Jim Steinman added to the voice and persona of Meatloaf still shine through even today which is why it's a true classic album and worthy of a Friday music thread.


Never heard anything like this before or since , brilliance.


All Revved Up With No Place to Go , so true.

Love that album !

I caused permanent deep gouges in my Bat Out of Hell album because I played it so much.... it was my absolute fav back in the day.

And the amazing art on the cover ? Priceless !

I can't count how many times I tried to sketch out that motorcycle on a piece of paper with the same beautiful realism of the album.





I still have my original album stored in a box in the basement somewhere, if for nothing else but the gorgeous artwork on the cover.



Bat Out of Hell was the one song I played the most out of all of them (the whole album was great though)... and this was my second favourite song that I played the most:

One of the greatest rock albums ever.

But I probably say that to all the boys.

I was born in 78 but the bands you named are timeless.

I'm not big into theatre but I think Meatloaf's theatrical antics added a lot to the albums and live shows. I can't name another artist who would enter stage on a motorcycle back then. His videos were usually unique and awesome as well. I especially enjoy the powerful ballads. Glad his voice came back after a rough surgery.

Meatloaf overcame a horrible childhood too and is a true inspiration. If you haven't watched the documentary I highly suggest it to anyone who remotely enjoys his music.

I seen Deep Purple in concert. It was awesome. I think it was more fun people watching then the concert itself. I remember a floor bouncer picked a dude up over his head and threw him back into the seats. I guess he wasn't supposed to be on the floor.
