Yahoo! News
TEHRAN, Iran - At least 35 worshippers were killed and more than 200 others injured when a fire broke out a mosque in central Tehran, state-run television reported late Monday.

The fire, sparked by a malfunctioning power circuit, started as hundreds of worshippers were performing evening prayers in the Arg Mosque, the television report said.

The official Islamic Republic News Agency said a long sheet of cloth segregating men from women caught fire and then quickly spread throughout the mosque.

At this time it appears to be just an accident, but that has not been confirmed by any independent media organizations.

From: TehranTimes: Dozens killed in Ark Mosque inferno

At least 40 people have been killed in a fire that raged through a crowded mosque in the capital Tehran on Monday.

It is thought that the blaze could have been caused by a heater brought inside the mosque to protect worshippers from the bitter cold.

Reports suggest a tarpaulin roof in the women's section caught fire and the flames soon spread.

Well it is indeed a tragic accident, I for a moment though that perhaps US was targeting some areas in there after all.

Well that is a tragedy.
