For this month of horror, may I ask all members to post their most horrific book illustrations?

They can be about war or haunting; ghosts or aliens - anything horrific.
(No gore or anything against the rules, just rediscovering the quaint - and what gave us chills, and brought us to the unexplained.)
Doesn't matter if attached from Google or a photo of a pic.

Just one per post, and at least a source, or where you first found it.

Richrad Davis (1981): The Encyclopedia Of Horror. Octopus Books: London. Page 97.

Found the book on special at the CNA, maybe back in 1988.
Just knew I must have it.
It was R11, add a zero to that these days.

Shortly afterwards there were the little smells and bells of occult rituals in halfoldman's bedroom.

Gorey is amazing. I have one of his books, the kids love it. I think it's. Called amphigorey?

Well then... Fine.

I was just digging up all of those I could find. Such a huge piece of my childhood and just bought my son the whole set.
