An Ode to Herrings.

An Ode Herrings:

I sometimes thought my lifestyle,
Should be wholly vegan
But flip I need dead fish,
Like The Walking Dead
Needs a Negan.

I like it tightly rolled,
With a gherkin please don't scold.
Don't bother with an oven
I like to eat them cold.

Asian is also nice,
But the tuna's just endangered
And loads of glycemic rice.

I like it European,
With cloves and just a little sour
And if it was my planet
You'd eat Herring on the hour.

So soft; so round,
Mouthwateringly profound.
What's not an acquired taste
Is usually a waste.

No liquor need I nor bedding,
Just give me one more herring.

Some men like their fish
With chopsticks
Yes it's weird.
But I prefer mine,
When on a toothpick
It is speared.

Wherever you go, whatever you do.
I will right here herring for you.
