That is good question! I forgot about the caste system. See, that is why ATS is great. Get another pair of eyes on things, a different viewpoint.

They all seem to be using cell phones. If that means anything. The few articles I read seemed to middle class families. I'm not sure how the modern version of caste differentiation in India works. It used to be by living area, skin color, religious beliefs, etc., but in the modern world? In the large cities? Idk.

Depression seems to be a major factor. It is crossing genders so I would tend to believe caste is not much of a factor (with the little understanding I have of what/how that works in modern India). That is my best guess.
