POLITICS: Sunnis Show Compromise After Iraq Results

Despite continued threats and attacks, Sunni politicians have offered to participate in the political future of Iraq. The compromise occurs on what can only be described as a Shiite landslide victory. Threats by insurgents as well as a concerted effort to boycott by the Sunni's has contributed to the Shiite landslide



I'm not surprised that this gesture is being made, but it would have had more strength if it had been done before the election. The Sunnis and thier insurgents bet on the elections being a total flop and the opposite occurred. They played high stakes poker, bluffed, and lost. They now face the possibility of little or no representation. No doubt a few bones will be thrown thier way, but they are getting what they deserved in my opinion.

What? Uhmm, the elections over. Their represntatives were offered up, and iraq voted on them. There isn't going to be a 'sunni' election or something like that. Now the Constitutional Congress is going to draft a form of government and such.

So the Supreme Council of Islamic Revolution of Iraq (SCIRI) headed by Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim, and the Al-Da’awa Party, headed by Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, the Vice President of Iraq.

But what is not coming out is that they are also followers of Ayatollah Al-Sistani and he is an Iranian.

So how this will play with Al-Sadir also a young yet to be Ayatollah by right, and also an Iraqi not like Sistani.

Both members of the Shiites. Occurs Sunnis if given the choices will go with Al-Sadir rather than Al-Sistani and perhaps we may see some unrest coming Iraqi's way.

wow... they came to a compromise, and so did israel and palestine... watch out.
